You and your friends are cordially invited to the
launch by Jayne Bates of the Dudley Writers’ latest book THE SOME OF US
A collection of Kangaroo Island stories of people & places,
now, then & looking into the future. Saturday 28th April 2018 at the Parndana Museum 11.45am
Dudley Writers’ Group hosted a very successful launch of Digging deeper on the first Sunday of 2016 in Mrs Vallentine’s Cottage. About 60 people squeezed into the small space to hear Laura Kroetsch, Director of Adelaide Writers’ Week speak beautifully about the value of such short story collections to the Australian story, with its ‘sinister’ overtones. Here are some photos from the party.
Dudley Writers’ Group members will be running a workshop in Penneshaw on 8 February 2015 for interested islanders and others.
DWG members are presenting on their own areas of speciality: Poetry by Jill Gloyne, Romance writing by Bev Willson, Historical fiction by Meredith Geyer and Feature writing by Kathie Stove. Distinguished editor Karen Disney will complete the day with 10 top tips for tidying up your text.
Each presentation will have plenty of practical tips and exercises.
The day starts at 10am in the CWA Centre, The Lane, Penneshaw, and concludes at 5pm.
The workshop price of $20 covers the tuition. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch and pool with others if they like.
